In a significant step towards promoting Agripreneurship to Agri students, a one-day Agripreneurship development proramme was jointly organized by the CitriHub, ICAR-Central Citrus |Research Institute, Nagpur, Maharashtra and Agribusiness Incubation Centre, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Imphal in collaboration with South Asian Institute of Rural and Agricultural Management on 6th March, 2025 in ICAR-NEH, Manipur Centre, Imphal, Manipur. Dr. Dilip Ghosh, Director, ICAR-CCRI, Nagpur, emphasized the importance of Agripreneurship development through students pursuing agri graduate in India. Dr. Ch Basudha Devi, Head of ICAR Manipur Centre, expressed that entrepreneurs in the state need to be promoted by providing technical support for quality processing and packaging so that their product can be sold in various market across the country. Prof H S Shekhar Sharma, Director, SAIRAM stated that agri -graduates need to be given training and impart skill so that they can become an entrepreneur using the locally available resources and raw material. Dr. Subhra Saikat Roy, Principal Scientist, ICAR CCRI and Dr. Kh. Rishikanta Singh, Senior Scientist, ICAR Manipur Centre delivered lectures regarding the prospect of Agripreneurship and activities of ABI. As part of the programme, two entrepreneurs (viz. Mr. Yumnam Parul Meitei and Ms. Catherine Soyamphi) from Manipur shared their success stories of agripreneurship and the support they received from CitriHub, ICAR-Central Citrus |Research Institute, Nagpur, Maharashtra and Agribusiness Incubation Centre. A total number 54 students and 13 nos. of staff including lecturer, assistant professor and scientist participated in the programme.
